Market Brief – Friday 12/18/20

Stocks were flat in overnight trading and fell in early trading. Treasury yields fell slightly in overnight trading and were flat in early trading as buyers were not eager to step in after yesterday’s aggressive selling by speculators in early trading.

Stocks closed lower on the day as Congress failed to pass a stimulus bill before the markets closing. Sellers continue to hammer away at the Treasury market but 30-year Treasury yields once again failed to break above 1.7%, which appears to be a line in the sand.
